STEM Content curator

🚨 We’re looking for STEM Content Curators to join Lab4U across the United States! ✨

Description

This is a call for science teachers and science graduates who love science, education, and building great learning experiences! 🧪 At Lab4U, we’re growing a team of STEM Content Curators in the United States, native English speakers who help us review, refine, and (over time) create the hands-on science content that reaches classrooms.

What does Lab4U do? 🤔

Our mission is to expand access to quality science education by turning smartphones into laboratory instruments, creating innovative methodologies for science learning, and implementing high-impact educational projects in communities across the United States, and the world.

Work with us TODAY to grow in the future 📈

We’re opening this search with both the short term and the long term in mind:

  • Right now (short term): You’ll review and curate science content created by other professionals, making sure every activity, experiment, and lesson is scientifically accurate, pedagogically sound, and genuinely engaging for students. This is a contractor collaboration and the best way for us to get to know each other.
  • Looking ahead (long term): As you get to know our approach, you’ll move into creating brand new content yourself, designing hands-on experiments and learning sequences that turn smartphones into laboratory instruments. Today’s content reviewer can become tomorrow’s content creator.

You don’t need to be a content author from day one. Start by reviewing, and the door to creating your own material stays open.

What you’ll do (areas of responsibility) 📚

Your role blends two things we value deeply: safeguarding the quality of our science content, and helping it grow. Depending on the moment, you might:

  • Review and curate content created by other professionals, checking scientific accuracy, clarity, and pedagogical value.
  • Ensure alignment with hands-on methodologies, so that every experience invites students to explore, measure, and discover.
  • Adapt content for U.S. classrooms, keeping the language natural and native, and aligning with grade levels and standards where relevant.
  • (Long term) Create new content, designing experiments, lessons, and full learning sequences from scratch.

Responsibilities can grow over time based on your interest and how you contribute to the team.

Who we’re looking for 🤩

We’re looking for native English science educators who care deeply about how students learn. Ideally you’ve taught or studied physics, biology, and/or chemistry, and you’ve spent time creating pedagogical content. Someone precise, curious, self-directed, and organized, comfortable iterating, and genuinely oriented toward students and teachers.

You should have real empathy for educators (our everyday heroes of teaching), a passion for improving education equitably, and enthusiasm for science education and edtech.

Requirements 📋

  • Native English speaker, based in the United States.
  • Background in science: a degree in Physics, Biology, and/or Chemistry, and experience as a science teacher in those subjects.
  • Familiarity with hands-on, inquiry-based learning methodologies
  • Ideally, experience creating pedagogical or educational content..
  • Comfortable with everyday tech: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, App Store / Google Play.
  • Precise, reliable, and open to feedback.
  • Willing to grow, starting with content review and moving toward content creation.

Why join Lab4U? 🧪

Lab4U has a warm, young, inclusive, diverse, and international culture. As a team, we’re kind but demanding, working alongside professionals who are deeply committed to our mission.

As a STEM Content Curator, you’ll be part of a community with real perks:

  • A community of impact: connect and share ideas with educators shaping science education.
  • Networking and growth: access to professional development and growth opportunities within our social-impact network.
  • Early access: be among the first to try new Lab4U tools and activities.
  • Your work reaching classrooms: the content you help shape reaches real students across the U.S.
  • Real impact: the satisfaction of helping democratize science education in the U.S. and beyond.
  • Room to grow: join a company in a stage of accelerated growth, and grow with us from reviewer to author.

How we work together 🤝

This is a contractor collaboration, organized around content projects. We’ll agree on the scope and timelines for each batch of content, so you can contribute in a way that fits your schedule while keeping our quality bar high.
